Douaniers on the battlefield: Douaniers in Napoleonic time were semi military units. In military actions used as skirmishers, sharpshooters and scouts.

What is Reenactment? Reenactment means depicting history, living like in the old days. But also having weekends of fun with a nice group of people, often at historic places.

The Douanes Imperiales? Napoleons Imperials customs officers. More then 40.000 douaniers, used against armies of smugglers and enemies soldiers. Their story.

The golden bee, as a symbol already used by the Merovingian rulers in France of the 4th and 5th century. Napoleon, from childhood very interested in ancient history used this symbol also in his own family weapon and on the flags of the French army regiments.
